The Indigenous People’s Capacity Building Initiative featured in The Hill
In 2017, BAERI’s Cindy Schmidt launched NASA’s Indigenous People’s Capacity Building Initiative, a program that partners with indigenous communities to give them the technical training to use remote sensing tools for tribal land and resource management.
The partnership and its successes were recently featured in The Hill, in an op-ed by Yale professor and Harvard University Center for the Environment researcher Wai Chee Dimock.
You can read Dimock’s piece here: Can NASA help save the planet? Yes, with indigenous partners.
